What are hashtags, you may ask?
Well, you may see them in social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, even LinkedIn, etc.) All you have to do is insert this sign (#) before a word (or two or three words)...
EXAMPLES (these are some of the hashtags that I use on Instagram):
#collage
#collageart
...and you'll see that they're linked to so many other posts or references--Essentially, the more posts and references that that word or phrase is featured in, the more viewership you'll get.
So, with #dolphinprincessseries (my hashtag for the Dolphin Princess series), I want to create that publicity, so that I can get more eyeballs--more viewership, more of that chance of people buying my book(s).
In hindsight, it's a type of business strategy. A lot of companies/businesses, nowadays, utilize the power of social media, so that they can get more customers.
